ACCOMPANIMENT
The Victims’
Commemorative
Arbor was
initiated by a
group of victims
who voiced a
need to NOVA to
have a special
place to honor
and recognize
loved ones lost
to violence.
In 1998,
Network of
Victim
Assistance
(NOVA) came
together with
victims, Bucks
County
Commissioners,
Bucks County
Park &
Recreation
officials, and
police chiefs to
designate a five
acre space in
Core Creek State
Park for the
Victims’
Commemorative
Arbor. In this
beautiful area
of the park
along Lake
Luxembourg,
people can come
and reflect in a
serene setting
while
remembering
loved ones lost
to violence or
honoring
survivors. Since
1998, thirty
trees and three
benches have
been placed in
memory or honor
of loved ones
lost to or
effected by
violence. In
partnership with
MADD of Bucks
County, an
entranceway was
added in the
fall of 2004.
The Victims'
Commemorative
Arbor has been
made possible by
generous
contributions
received from
individuals and
foundations. If
you are
interested in
planting a tree
in honor or
memory of a
loved one or
wish to support
the ongoing
maintenance of
the arbor,
please contact
the office at
