Dear NOVA Family and Friends,

I am writing to thank you for your investment in the critically important work that NOVA provides to our community and to inform you that we are postponing our gala and all NOVA community-based events scheduled for April.

Our signature gala event, An Evening at the Roaring 20’s, has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2020. The other events will be postponed until later dates.

Our decision to postpone the gala, a major fundraising event for NOVA, was not an easy one to make. The gala generates significant revenue that supports vital, essential programs such as our school-based personal safety programs and the Children’s Advocacy Center, which provides specialized forensic services to children who are at risk for having been sexually abused.

Rescheduling our gala fundraiser surely will reduce the revenue that supports NOVA’s vital programs. However, we believe that rescheduling the event for the fall will give us an opportunity to resume that funding in our next fiscal year.

In making this difficult decision, we are following the guidance of the Bucks County Department of Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). NOVA is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our community, and the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and supporters are of utmost importance to us.

If you are an individual or corporate sponsor or have paid to place an advertisement, we hope you will continue to support NOVA by allowing us to hold your sponsorship for the fall event. We will be in touch with each of you over the upcoming days.

If you have purchased a ticket to attend the gala and/or for the Wine Pull, you have the option to either secure your reservation for the October event, turn your purchase for the spring event into a straight donation to NOVA, or request a refund. A member of our Auction Committee will reach out to you in the next week, or you can contact Development Associate Jill Mann at

We are grateful for your investment in NOVA and its programs and thank you for understanding our decision to postpone the gala. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at 215-343-6543 or email me at

My warm regards,
Penelope R. Ettinger
