Promoting Sexual Health in the LGBTQ+ Community

This conference will increase participants’ skill development in providing quality service that is mindful of the impact and intersections of sexual health, relationships, mental health, and advocacy in the LGBTQ+ community. Curriculum is designed to enhance competency and inclusivity across service providers, including human services, education, health care, and community-based work. Participants are strongly encouraged to have received prior training in LGBTQ+ 101 education.

Topics and breakout sessions include:

  • Sex Work, Survival Sex, and Human Trafficking – Discussing Terminology, Challenges, Stigma, and Advocacy Opportunities
  • Intersections of Sexual Health and Substance Abuse
  • Communication & Understanding in the Patient-Provider Exchange
  • STI Awareness & Prevention
  • Sexual Health & Healthy Relationships
