If you, a family member, or friend are in need of assistance, please call our 24-hour toll-free hotline. NOVA staff and a dedicated group of trained volunteers are available to respond to victims 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
NOVA provides a continuum of trauma informed crisis counseling for children and adults who have been traumatized as victims of sexual assault and other serious crimes. Many victims experience such emotions as shock, denial, fear and anxiety following an assault or other crime. NOVA’s licensed professional counselors offer free individual and group counseling to help victims understand these normal reactions and find ways to cope.
The Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) provides a safe and child-friendly environment in which CAC staff, law enforcement, child welfare, prosecution, victim advocacy and medical and mental health professionals collaborate to implement effective, coordinated investigations of suspected child abuse. The purpose of the CAC is to ensure an unbiased interview and reduce the traumatic impact of going through multiple interviews.
NOVA is able to provide sexual assault forensic exams (SANE) in most Bucks County hospitals. NOVA staff and trained volunteers can provide accompaniment, emotional support, information, and referral services during the exam.
NOVA’s victim advocates are trained to help victims of crime negotiate the criminal justice system. Advocates provide information, emotional support, an understanding of victim rights, access to crime compensation filing, assistance with preparing victim impact statements, and referrals to additional community resources.
During this difficult time, Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA) staff will be working remotely and will continue to serve clients and the community.
